The Moriyama Garden is a brilliant location for hosting celebrations and ceremonies. Its unique design makes it a remarkable scenery all four seasons.
The Moriyama Japanese Garden symbolizes the friendship between Bloomington-Normal and Asahikawa, its sister city in Japan. The garden is named after Motoichi Moriyama, the first chairperson of the Sisters Cities Committee in Asahikawa. It was built through the joint effort of Japanese architects and local volunteers in 1986.
